Liam Neeson has not stopped acting.  Liam Neeson stated that when he said he was retiring from the action genre, it was a joke. He earlier stated that his time for action movies would stop by the time he was 64.

Liam Neeson got his first film experience in 1977, playing Jesus Christ and The Evangelist in the religious film Pilgrim’s Progress (1978). In 2011, Liam Neeson played himself in BBC2’s Life’s Too Short series.

\Liam Neeson made a voice cameo as Qui-Gon in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019). The American Ireland Fund honored Liam Neeson with their Performing Arts Award for the great distinction he has brought to Ireland at their 2008 Dinner Gala in New York City.

In January 2018, Liam Neeson was awarded the Distinguished Service for the Irish Abroad Award by Irish President Michael D. Higgins.

In 2010, Liam Neeson made a guest-star appearance on the Showtime series The Big C. In 2009, at a ceremony in New York, Liam Neeson was awarded an honorary doctorate by Queen’s University, Belfast.
