Hank Green, a YouTuber and VidCon co-founder, revealed on Friday that he has Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer that attacks the lymphatic system.

“It appears that we caught mine early.” “I’m still waiting for a scan to sort of confirm that,” Green said in a 13-minute YouTube video. He stated that he would begin chemotherapy soon.
Green stated that he received advice from cancer survivors about what to expect during treatment. He explained that he had several risk factors for lymphoma, including certain medications, an autoimmune disease, and a childhood infection with mononucleosis.

He also discussed how his diagnosis might affect his work in the future and stated that he might not be able to create content as frequently. Green recognized that his community would most likely be understanding and supportive of his situation.
“I’m playing it by ear,” he said in the video. “I know I’m gonna feel like garbage, like it’s gonna be really unpleasant.” Following Hank Green’s announcement, many shared their support for him in comments.
