Phil Jones is a professional footballer who plays as a central defender/ defensive midfielder for the Premier League club Manchester United.

Born on February 21, 1992, in Preston, England, Jones began his football career at the Blackburn Rovers youth academy, and made his first-team debut for Blackburn in 2009.

Jones began playing for Manchester United in 2011, and appeared in domestic competitions such as the Premier League and the FA Cup, as well as in European competitions like the UEFA Champions League.

During his time at Manchester United, Jones won several major honors, including the Premier League title in the 2012-2013 season, and the UEFA Europa League in the 2016-2017 season.

Additionally, Jones has played with the England national team, in international matches such as the UEFA European Championship and FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

In spite of the numerous injuries he has battled in his career, Jones is still well known for his versatility and athleticism.
