Carla Bruni-Sarközy is a singer, former fashion model, and wife of former president of France, Nicolas Sarkozy.

Born on December 23, 1967, in Italy, Bruni began modelling as a teenager, before launching her career in music.

Her husband, Nicolas Sarkozy, is a French politician who served as president of France from 2007 to 2012.

After writing many songs for notable artistes for a period of time, Bruni released her debut album, Quelqu’un m’a dit, which ranked tops on the French Albums Chart.

She went on to release other albums such as No Promises, Comme si de rien n’était, Little French Songs, and French Touch, all of which won her many awards. So far, Bruni has sold 5 million albums in the course of her career.

Bruni also appeared in a number of films and TV commercials.

Bruni is quite known for her philanthropic works, being the wife of a politician. In 2009, she set up the Carla Bruni-Sarkozy Foundation and has represented The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria several times.

As of 2010, she ranked 35th on Forbes list of the most powerful women in the world.
