Popular English comedian, Andy Smart has been announced dead by his daughter, Grace in a social media post. The announcement of his death was made by Grace via Andy’s Facebook post.

“Hi this is Grace, Andy’s daughter, I’m very sorry to let you all know that Dad passed away unexpectedly last night. He had so many friends and such a great life. Raise a glass for him,” she wrote.

Born on June 16, 1959, Andy Smart performed as a guest with The Comedy Store Players for over 13 years. He became a permanent member in 1995 before joining the Players, he was one-half of the Vicious Boys with Angelo Abela. They won the 1984 Time Out Street Entertainer Award.

He also represented American Football on Channel 4 in 1987 alongside Abela. In 2019, he released a book about his life and career, A Hitch in Time: From Liverpool to Pamplona on 72,000-Mile Road Trip.
Tributes have been pouring in from several celebrities and people after his death was announced.
“Very sorry to hear this Gracie. Andy was a very funny man and a great improviser. His talent will be missed. That is such terrible news. I’m so sorry to hear that. Condolences to Andy’s family and friends; he was such a force for joy, and will be sorely missed,” Eddie Izzard.
“Upset to hear this. Few seem to manage to enjoy life both on and off stage as much as he died. Sorry to his closest. I’ll miss his grin,” Fellow comic Milton Jones also wrote.
Rufus Hound wrote: “There will be others that will speak of his talent, but simply one of the great MEN died. A lust of revelry in all forms, there’s less light today. Will be drinking to him tonight. What a lad.“
