Rachel McAdams is a Canadian actress who rose to fame in 2004 after appearing in the comedy Mean Girls and the romantic drama The Notebook.

Born on November 17, 1978, in Ontario, Canada, Rachel attended York University, where she obtained a degree in theatre.

She made her TV debut starring as Beth Swanson in the MTV pilot Shotgun Love Dolls.

Afterwards, she appeared in several Canadian films like Perfect Pie (2002), My Name Is Tanino (2002), Slings and Arrows (2003–2005).

She moved on to Hollywood, and starred in several other films such as The Hot Chick, Wedding Crashers, Red Eye, The Family Stone, State of Play, The Time Traveler’s Wife, and Sherlock Holmes.

In 2015, Rachel appeared in the second season of True Detective, and later, Doctor Strange and its sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in 2016 and 2022 respectively.

Other films in which she starred include Game Night (2018), Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020),  Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. (2023).

Rachel has bagged several awards and nominations such as the Gemini Award, Academy Award, Critics Choice Movie Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, Independent Spirit Award, MTV Movie Award, and a few others.
