American politician and businesswoman, Lauren Boebert is a strong advocate for gun rights. She owned Shooters Grill, a restaurant in Rifle, Colorado from 2013 to 2022. Her restaurant allowed and encourages staff members to carry firearms openly.

On January 1, 2021, in a letter co-signed by more than 80 Republicans, she asked Speaker Pelosi and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to uphold the 1967 law exempting members of Congress from a Capitol Hill ban on firearms, which allowed them to keep arms in their offices.

She once refused a bag check after she set off the newly installed Capitol Hill metal detectors and entered the Capitol. She also refused to stop for a ward check after she set off the metal detector.
Boebert shared that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has violated the separation of powers after the department mandated that gun owners register any firearms that use “stabilizing braces.”
“Alcohol, tobacco, and firearms. In western Colorado, we call that a fun weekend. But D.C. bureaucrats have used this agency to infringe on the rights of the American people,” she said.
