Did Hilda Baci break the Guinness World Record? – Hilda Bassey Effiong, also known as Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef, has established a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours. She broke the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours by an individual at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023, after cooking for 100 hours.

Hilda originally planned to cook for 96 hours to create a new record for the longest cooking marathon, but she then increased her goal to a 100-hour cooking marathon.

Hilda broke the previous record set by Indian chef Lata Tondon, who cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds in 2019.

Baci’s culinary marathon challenge began on Thursday (May 11) at 4 p.m. Nigerian time at Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos State.

Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s Vice President, also called Hilda during the cookathon to cheer her up.

Hilda got a large fan following among Nigerians who flocked to the cookathon venue, and her name is still buzzing on social media.
