Meet Dame Rosie Horton’s daughter Vicky Horton – Vicky Horton is the daughter of Dame Rosie Hortonn and her husband Michael Horton, a well-known New Zealand philanthropist. Despite being the daughter of a well-known philanthropist, Vicky has kept much of her life private, and as a result, there is little information about her available online.

Vicky’s mother, Rosie Horton, who was born Rosemary Anne Moon on March 25, 1940 in Christchurch, New Zealand, died on the weekend of May 13-14, 2023, at the age of 83.
Rosie was a founding trustee of the Auckland-based Starship Foundation and Friends of Starship.

She also founded the New Zealand Breast Cancer Fund and has donated to Women’s Refuge, the SPCA, and the Salvation Army.

She was also a patron of the Gut Cancer Foundation and the Rautakauri Music Therapy Trust, among other organizations.
The National Business Review named Horton one of the top ten donors in New Zealand in 2016.
She had helped raise cash for life-saving equipment at Starship Children’s Hospital, including the country’s first pediatric bone marrow transplant center.
She received a Mayor’s Living Legend Award in 2008 and the Catherine Variety Sheridan Award from Variety (The Children’s Charity) in 2009 for her dedication to improving the lives of children in New Zealand.
Her husband, Michael Horton, of media conglomerate Wilson and Horton Ltd and former publisher of The New Zealand Herald, daughter Vicky and two living step-children, as well as five “wonderful” grandchildren, survive her.
