Is Saint Obi still alive? – Saint Obi, 57, a veteran Nollywood actor born Obinna Nwafor, passed away on May 7, 2023, in Jos, Plateau State. According to multiple sources, Obi died after several months of hospitalization for an undisclosed ailment.

Obi is said to have died at the residence of one of his sisters.

According to accounts, the announcement of his death was delayed for about a week due to disagreements among his siblings.

The precise cause of death has yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, his remains are alleged to have been placed in the morgue at Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH.

Saint Obi was a prominent Nigerian actor, film producer, film director, and businessman who was born on November 16, 1965.

He has appeared in over 60 films and produced his first, Take Me to Maama, in 2001, in which he played Jerry opposite Ebi Sam, Rachel Oniga, Nse Abel, and Enebeli Elebuwa.

Born Obinna Nwafor, to parents Millicent Nwafor and Mazi Melford Nwafor, Saint Obi studied Theatre Arts at the University of Jos and began acting in 1996 in a Peugeot television commercial.

He will be best remembered for his roles in Candle Light, Sakobi, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Festival of Fire, Executive Crime, and Last Party.

Saint Obi is survived by his wife Lydia Saint-Nwafor and three children.
