Famous actress, Emilia Jones who grew up as a child actress, starred as Ruby Rossi in the Apple TV+ comedy-drama film CODA. She played as the only hearing member of her family who dreams of going to Berklee.

To play the role very well, she learned American Sign Language (ASL) for nine months while also learning how to operate a professional fishing trawler. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 28, 2021, where it was bought by Apple Original Films for $25 million. It is the first Sundance production film to win an Academy Award for Best Picture.

She had never sung in a movie, however, she learned how to sing and began practicing prior to shooting the film.
Jones was also cast as Kinsey Locke, one of the main characters in the Netflix fantasy drama series Locke & Key in 2018. She started her acting career in 2010 when she was just 8 years old. Her debut film was her role as Jasmine in One Day.
