Italian director and screenwriter, Enrico Oldoini was 54 years old when he created Don Matteo in 2000. He is best known for creating one of the best Italian comedy characters called Don Matteo. The protagonist of the series is Lino Banfi.

He was the director for the first season of the series and also produced other series like Try Again Professor and One Step from Heaven. He had an outstanding career in television when he released his debut tv series God Sees and Provides which was released in 2000.

Born on May 4, 1946, Enrico Oldoini started his career in the early 60s when he moved to Rome to pursue an acting career. However, he fell in love with writing and wrote his debut movie in 1976 dubbed And A Lot of Fear.
According to close sources, he died of a prolonged battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease. He died on May 10, 2023, at the age of 77.
