He began his career in the early 60s when he moved to Rome to pursue an acting career. However, he fell in love with writing and wrote his debut movie in 1976 dubbed And A Lot of Fear.

Oldoni was considered by many as the Master of Comedy in Italy in the 80s and worked alongside several comedians including Renato Pozzeto, Ezio Greggio, Gerry Cala, Adrian Celentano Charles Verdone, and more.
In 1978, he also wrote Just the Way You Are which was interpreted by Marcello Mastroianni and Nastassja Kinski. He worked with numerous directors on many films including The Ragassa’s Body, Quick Hand, or Give Me Your Hand.
He died after several years of battling Lou Gehrig’s disease also known as ASL. He was 77 years old and was reported dead on May 10, 2023.
