Italian screenwriter, Enrico Oldoini died after several years of battling Lou Gehrig’s disease also known as ASL. He was 77 years old and was reported dead on May 10, 2023.

He was considered by many as the Master of Comedy in Italy in the 80s and worked alongside several comedians including Renato Pozzeto, Ezio Greggio, Gerry Cala, Adrian Celentano Charles Verdone, and more.
Oldoino made his directing debut in 1984 with the movie Hearts in the Storm and starred in it as well. He went on to direct several others including He Is Worse Than Me, Yuppies 2, Beautiful Fresh, Bye Bye Baby, and A Short Life.

He had an outstanding career in television when he released his debut tv series God Sees and Provides which was released in 2000. He is best known for creating one of the best Italian comedy characters called Don Matteo. The protagonist of the series is Lino Banfi.
Born on May 4, 1946, Enrico Oldoini started his career in the early 60s when he moved to Rome to pursue an acting career. However, he fell in love with writing and wrote his debut movie in 1976 dubbed And A Lot of Fear.
