Joran’s mother claims that he has a problem with lying and that he used to slip out of the house at night to gamble.
Joran’s father was arrested on 22 June 2005 for questioning in Holloway’s disappearance and released three days later on 26 June.
Joran’s father died of a heart attack while playing tennis in Aruba on February 10, 2010.
Joran had severe mental problems, according to his mother Anita, and blamed himself for his father’s death.
Joran left home before she could have him involuntarily committed, leaving a note: “I’m gone, do not worry.”
