John Christopher Ludwick made news after alleging he assisted Joran van der Sloot in disposing of Natalee Holloway’s body in the internationally publicized 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

Ludwick of Port Charlotte, Fla., a community northwest of Fort Myers, Fla., is dead.
According to authorities, he was stabbed to death after attempting to kidnap a woman from her vehicle in neighboring North Port.
He was 32 at the time.

According to officials in Peru, Joran van der Sloot will be extradited to the United States to face extortion and fraud accusations.

Peru “decided to agree to the request for temporary surrender … (of van der Sloot) … for his prosecution in the United States for the alleged commission of the crimes of extortion and fraud” against Holloway’s mother, Justice and Human Rights Minister Daniel Maurate Romero said in a statement Wednesday (May 10, 2023).
Van der Sloot will be returned to Peru after the legal proceedings against him in the United States are completed, according to Peru’s judiciary.
