Jacklyn Zeman, who played Barbara “Bobbie” Spencer on “General Hospital” for more than 800 episodes, has died. She was seventy years old. The cause of death was not immediately known.

On Wednesday evening, “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini revealed Zeman’s death on Twitter.
Valentini’s post on Twitter read:
“On behalf of our ‘General Hospital’ family, I am heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Jackie Zeman,”
“Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work.”
He continued: “Jackie will be greatly missed, but her positive spirit will always live on with our cast and crew.”

Born on March 6, 1953 in New Jersey, Zeman trained ballet as a youngster and attended New York University to study dance, but she eventually switched to acting, with her debut appearance on “The Edge of Night” in 1976.
She had a lengthy storyline on “One Life to Live” that year, appearing in almost 40 episodes.
She joined “General Hospital” in 1977 and starred in more than 800 episodes over nearly 50 years.
Bobbie Spencer, the sister of Pat Spencer (Dee Wallace) and Luke Spencer Sr.,(Anthony Geary) was played by her .
Cassidy and Lacey Zeman, her two daughters, survive her.
