Denny Crum Obituary

American college basketball coach, Denny Crum has been reported dead by the University of Louisville where he spent most of his coaching career.

“We are saddened to share the passing of legendary UofL Basketball Coach Denny Crum. Our thoughts & prayers are with his loved ones,” Louisville Men’s Basketball Twitter page posted.

His cause of death has not been announced yet, however, he was known to have been battling several health complications for some time. He died at his home on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at age 86.

Social media users have expressed their condolences after his death was announced.

“One of Kentucky’s Finest. RIP Coach Crum. I really missed seeing him at Derby. I always sat 4-5 tables down from him and we always spoke. He will always be remembered,” JD Shelburne.

“Coach Crum was a true Louisville icon. He was one of my dad’s heroes and my dad passed that on to me. As I got older, learning about the Cum family’s impact on Louisville inspired me. Rest in peace to a great coach and an even greater man,” Bryson Sebastian.
