Despite his notable achievements during his career, which included leading the Minnesota Vikings to three division titles and a Super Bowl appearance, Kapp has not been enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

In fact, he has never been a finalist for induction into the Hall of Fame, which is determined by a selection committee made up of media members, former players, and coaches.

However, Kapp was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1984, in recognition of his successful career in the Canadian Football League.

He is also a member of the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame, the Wall of Fame of the BC Lions, the College Football Hall of Fame, and the University of California Athletic Hall of Fame.
