Nicole Weir passed away in 2005. She contributed background vocals to some of Steve Winwood’s early solo work.
Steve Winwood first rose to fame in the 1960s as a member of the Spencer Davis Group, a British rock band that had several hits, including “Gimme Some Lovin’” and “Keep on Running.”

In the 1970s, Winwood embarked on a successful solo career, releasing a string of hit albums such as “Arc of a Diver,” “Talking Back to the Night,” and “Back in the High Life.”
He also collaborated with other notable artists such as Eric Clapton, Jim Capaldi, and Ginger Baker. His song “Higher Love” won him a Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1987.
Steve Winwood’s influence on the music industry has been significant, and his contributions to rock and roll have earned him a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Traffic.
