Owens was waved again by the Cardinals on August 31, 2019. On September 30, 2019, he was signed to the Houston Texans practice squad and was promoted to the active roster on November 21, 2019, but waived two days later and re-signed to the practice squad.
He was elevated to the active roster on October 10 and October 17, 2020, for the team’s week 5 and 6 games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans.
Owens had his first career interceptions and a first fumble recovery in Texan’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He was placed on injured reserve on January 3, 2022, after suffering a dislocated wrist in the team’s Week 16 loss against the San Francisco 49ers. He plays as a football safety.
