Glen Kuiper Kuiper began his broadcasting career at a small radio station in his hometown.
In 1992, Kuiper got his big break when he was hired as a sports anchor and reporter for KTVN-TV in Reno, Nevada.
In 2004, Kuiper joined the Oakland Athletics broadcast team as the play-by-play announcer on the team’s radio broadcasts.
He quickly became a fan favourite with his enthusiastic and knowledgeable commentary, and in 2007, he began calling A’s games on television as well. Today, he is the primary play-by-play announcer for the Oakland Athletics on NBC Sports California.
Kuiper’s broadcasting career has not been limited to baseball. He has also called games for the San Francisco Giants, Sacramento Kings, and Golden State Warriors, among other teams.
Glen Kuiper has won several awards for his work, including the Northern California Emmy Award for Best Sports Broadcast in 2003 and the Associated Press Award for Best Sportscast in California in 2006.
