Kate Middleton and Rose Hanbury were once considered to be close friends, but there have been rumours of a rift between them in recent years.

The speculation began when reports surfaced that Kate had “phased out” Rose from her inner circle and that the two women were no longer on speaking terms.
Kate and Rose first met through their husbands, Prince William and David Cholmondeley, who are both part of the British aristocracy.
They quickly became close friends, and Rose was often seen at royal events and social gatherings alongside Kate. In fact, the two women were so close that Rose was even dubbed “the Kate Middleton of Norfolk” by the British press.

Despite the rumours, neither Kate nor Rose has addressed the speculation publicly. However, there have been some indications that the two women may still be on friendly terms. For example, in January 2020, Rose and her husband David were invited to attend a private dinner with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at their home in Norfolk.
This suggests that the rift between the two women may have been exaggerated, or that they may have since reconciled. Moreover, the Marchioness, along with the Princess, is a patron of the charity East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
