He was born on November 26, 1960, in Eugene, Oregon to John Reynolds and Lettie Reynolds. Reynolds is the youngest of eight children, and no one influenced him more than his mother and grandmother, Theresa Hoskins.

The family didn’t have a lot of money. In fact, the five Reynolds brothers shared a bedroom and fought over a single bed. Lettie cleaned houses, did odd jobs, and made sure her children ate and had a place to live.

Lettie was always encouraging her children. In contrast, Theresa was the enforcer. She established ground rules and taught her grandchildren proper etiquette.
