Denis Villeneuve is a 55 years old Canadian filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer. He was born on October 3, 1967, in Trois-Rivières, Quebec.

After directing several short films, Villeneuve made his feature film debut in 1998 with “August 32nd on Earth,” which earned critical acclaim and established him as a rising talent in the Canadian film industry.
He went on to direct a number of successful films, including “Polytechnique” (2009), a docudrama about the 1989 École Polytechnique massacre in Montreal, and “Incendies” (2010), a gripping drama about a mother and her children searching for their roots in the Middle East.
In recent years, Villeneuve has become best known for his work in Hollywood, where he has directed a number of high-profile films that have earned both critical and commercial success.
The films he directed include Prisoners (2013) and Sicario (2015), as well as the science fiction films Arrival (2016) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017).
