Blumenthal was born on January 30, 1986 in Stamford and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut.
He is the eldest child of US Senator Richard Blumenthal.
He attended Harvard College and Yale Law School.
He is a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve and works for the law firm Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder. He was deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
