What is Gordon Lightfoot doing now?

Canadian singer and songwriter, Gordon Lightfoot who was set to perform at several events has been reported dead. He died on Monday, May 1, 2023.

He died of natural causes at the age of 84. Lightfoot canceled his shows in April 2023 due to health complications.

“Official Statement from Gordon Lightfoot For Immediate Release – Toronto, ON April 11, 2023. Gordon Lightfoot announces the cancellation of his U.S. and Canadian concert scheduled for 2023. The singer is currently experiencing some health-related issues and is unable to confirm scheduled dates at this time. We thank you for respecting his privacy as he continues to focus on his recovery,” he announced in an official statement.

“Gordon Lightfoot captured our country’s spirit in his music – and in doing so, he helped shape Canada’s soundscape. May his music continue to inspire future generations, and may his legacy live on forever,” Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau wrote.

Born on November 17, 1938, Gordon Lightfoot started his career at a young age as a means to support himself. He sang and produced commercial jingles during the initial stages of his career.
