Cogliano has a fractured neck after Jordan Eberle checked him head-first into the boards in Game 6. The hit occurred late in the second period, and Cogliano somehow returned to the game in the third.
“He’s as tough as they come,” coach Jared Bednar said.

Cogliano is now considered out indefinitely.
Cogliano joins defenseman Josh Manson, Darren Helm and Gabriel Landeskog as players who will miss Game 7 with injury.
Valeri Nichushkin is away from the team. That leaves Bednar with few lineup choices.
The Avalanche sent defenseman Brad Hunt to the AHL Colorado Eagles before word came out about Cogliano’s injury.
