Ice Spice is not Nigerian, she is an American national by birth. However, her name Naija often makes some people think she is Nigerian.

Ice Spice began her career in 2021 while she was still a college student. Her first song was Bully Freestyle which was released in March of that year.

She released her second song Munch (Feelin’ U’) in August  2022, which became her breakthrough song as it went viral on TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram. Her popularity became wider after Drake played her viral song on his SiriusXM radio station, Sound 42.

In January 2023, she released her debut EP, Like…? was released on January 20, 2023. She made her Billboard Hot 100 debut with her feature song Gangsta Boo with Lil Tjay. She also featured on Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2 with Pink Pantheress that same month which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
