In 2012, Broeck was a full-time caddie for Tim Herron and part-time player at the US Senior Open. He famously shot a 68 which put him at 6-under 134 and one shot ahead of first-round leader Tom Kite. Broeck caddied at the Senior Open alongside his son.

When playing, Broeck insisted dealing with nerves won’t be a challenge when he’s in the spotlight but said his son will have to help him calm down when he gets angry.

Broeck stated:

‘Usually when I get mad, he wants to go hide.’ ‘We haven’t worked on that yet.’

Much is not known about the personal and professional life of Broeck’s son.

Broeck won one event, the 1984 Magnolia Classic, but that wasn’t considered an official victory because it was played the same week as the Masters. His best finish in a PGA Tour event was second at the 1991 Chattanooga Classic, earning him a career-best paycheck of $75,600.
