Lance Ten Broeck, an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, and Champions Tour had an estimated net worth of $1 million at time of death.

Broeck turned professional in 1977, and it took him another five years, three years after that, to make it to the PGA Tour.

He played at least 14 tournaments in each of his 12 seasons, compiling a journeyman record of 355 starts, 11 top tens, 49 top 25s, more cuts missed (186) than made (162), and career earnings of $790,347 – less than what a guy makes for finishing second in a major or World Golf Championship event.

Broeck won one event, the 1984 Magnolia Classic, but that wasn’t considered an official victory because it was played the same week as the Masters. His best finish in a PGA Tour event was second at the 1991 Chattanooga Classic, earning him a career-best paycheck of $75,600.

Most notably, he completed an unprecedented double at the 2009 Valero Texas Open, where he came to caddie for Parnevik.

Instead, Ten Broeck, then 53, arrived late, borrowed a set of clubs, and shot 71-70, missing the cut by two strokes. Despite this, he caddied for Parnevik, who shot 70-74, for the majority of the two rounds. (Ten Broeck’s son filled five holes.)

Interestingly, Ten Broeck earned more as a caddie in his best season ($235,000) than he did as a player ($146,568 in 1989).

Broeck died on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at age 67.
