Thomas Michael Shannon, an American professional baseball third baseman and right fielder, had six children: Erin McGowan, Peg Shannon Caldwell, Michael Shannon, Daniel Shannon, Patricia Shannon VanMatre, and Timothy Shannon. There isn’t much information about Mike Shannon’s children on the internet.

Shannon was born on July 15, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised there. He played Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1962 to 1970, and then worked as a Cardinals radio broadcaster from 1972 to 2021.
Shannon made his major league debut in 1962 with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Shannon batted.288 in 137 games in 1966, with 16 home runs and 64 runs batted in (RBIs).
Shannon hit a home run off Gary Bell in Game 3 of the 1967 World Series against the Boston Red Sox.
Shannon’s solo home run off Mickey Lolich in Game 7 of the 1968 World Series against the Detroit Tigers was the Cardinals’ only run off Lolich as the Tigers won the series. Shannon also hit the final home run in Sportsman’s Park in 1966 and the Cardinals’ first in Busch Memorial Stadium.

Unfortunately, he developed nephritis, a kidney disease, in 1970, which ended his playing career.
Shannon joined the Cardinals’ promotional staff in 1971 and moved to the radio booth in 1972.
Shannon was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 1999 after receiving a local Emmy Award for his work on Cardinal broadcasts in 1985.
Shannon was inducted into the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame on August 8, 2014.
Shannon only called Cardinals home games from 2016 until his retirement in 2021.
Shannon announced on January 14, 2021, that the 2021 season, his 50th in the broadcast booth, would be his last.
Shannon was honored by the Cardinals in a farewell ceremony on October 3, 2021.
Shannon contracted COVID-19 in October 2020 and was hospitalized for 15 days before being placed in a medically induced coma.
He recovered, but had to deal with long COVID after that.
Shannon died on April 29, 2023, in Marion, Illinois, of a stroke at the age of 83.
