Katherine Heigl is an American actress, film producer, and former fashion model. She is the daughter of Nancy and Paul Heigl.

Heigl’s mother Nancy was a personal manager, and Paul Heigl her father was a financial executive and accountant. Her father is of Irish and German descent (including Swiss-German), and her mother is German.
Katherine Heigl grew up in Northern Virginia and then Denver before her family relocated to New Canaan, Connecticut when she was five years old, where she spent the rest of her childhood.
Her older brother Jason died in a car accident in 1986 after being thrown from the back of a pickup truck while out for lunch with some of his high school classmates. Katherine Heigl shared some touching tribute to her dad Paul Heigl on Father’s Day in 2020.

Katherine Heigl co-produces with her mother, Nancy Heigl, whom she credits with guiding her through a career in show business. She once shared a glimpse of her relationship with her mom in a sweet Mother’s Day Instagram post in May 2020.
