How many times has Mark Selby won the world championship?

Professional snooker player, Mark Selby has won Four World Championships so far in his career. He won his first major tournament on 28 January 2008 at the Masters at Wembley Arena in London. Selby also claimed his first world ranking title at the Welsh Open in February 2008, winning against Ronnie O’Sullivan.

He also won the minor-ranking PTC Event 4 in the 2011 edition of the Paul Hunter Classic having edged out O’Sullivan  4-3 in the semi-finals.

Unfortunately, Selby lost his number one ranking on 2 November 2012 when Trump claimed the top spot by reaching the final of the inaugural International Championship in China.

Born on 19 June 1983, Selby’s first professional career started in 1999 when he joined the professional tour at the age of 16. He reached the semi-finals of the China Open in early 2002.

In April 2003, he reached his first ranking final at the Scottish Open when he was 19 years old. He finished runner-up to David Gray and earned himself a place in the top 32 for the first time.
