Suede’s death at the Corrective Training Center in Soledad was verified by representatives of the Monterey County coroner’s office and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, although they did not immediately comment on how the 22-year-old passed away.
Suede’s real name was Jaime Brugada Valdez and he hailed from Huntington Park.

The rapper was discovered unconscious just before 10 p.m., according to a statement from CDCR officials, when correctional personnel noticed he wasn’t in his cell during a routine count. He was discovered, according to officials, “with injuries consistent with a homicide.”
A prisoner who spoke to the Los Angeles Times anonymously noted that the rapper had been discovered in a part of the prison housing general population prisoners.
MoneySign Suede had been serving a 32-month sentence on gun charges in Riverside County.
