Skylar Astin Parents: Meet Meryl Lipstein, Barry Lipstein

Skylar Astin is an American actor and singer who has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry.

Skylar Astin was born in New York City, the son of garment industry executive Meryl and Barry Lipstein. He is Jewish and has two brothers, Milan and Jace, as well as a sister, Brielle.

Growing up in New York City, he attended Clarkstown High School North and Stagedoor Manor performing arts summer camp. He was also a student at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, but he took a leave of absence when he was cast in Spring Awakening.

Skylar’s parents are still married, and his mother Meryl revealed on Instagram in January 2022 that she and Barry have been married for 38 years as a couple.

However, Skylar does not publicly use his parents’ surnames. Skylar, on the other hand, has used his middle name professionally since he was a teenager, according to Us Weekly.

Skyler Astin’s breakthrough role came in the hit 2012 comedy film “Pitch Perfect,” where he played the character Jesse Swanson, a member of a capella group.

Apart from his work in the “Pitch Perfect” franchise, Astin has also starred in several other movies and TV shows, including “21 & Over,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Ground Floor,” and “Graves.”
