Jim Wilhelm Death: How did Jim Wilhelm die?

Jim Wilhelm died after a brief battle with cancer on Monday, April 24, 2023. He was 68 years old. He was survived by his brothers; Tim Wilhelm and Keith Wilhelm, as well as his husband, Jeff Potter.

He worked as a stage manager, PR Director, and casting director right after college before becoming a talent agent. This was after he completed his college education at Gannon University in Erie, where he was awarded a degree in communications and theatre.

Wilhelm was one of the original founding partners of Douglas, Gorman, Rothacker & Wilhelm – one of New York’s most preeminent theatrical agencies.

He served over forty years in New York during his career and retired to Milford, Pennsylvania in 2021. He often conducted seminars and classes on theatre at universities and conservatories across the country. Some of the universities include; NYU, the North Carolina School of Arts, the Boston Conservatory, Elon University, University of Cincinnati, and more.
