Fatima Whitbread had a successful career that spanned more than two decades, during which she won numerous medals and accolades. She also set world records in the javelin throw event.
Fatima Whitbread’s achievements include winning the gold medal at the 1986 Commonwealth Games and a silver medal at the 1984 Olympic Games. She was also a two-time European champion in the javelin throw and set the world record in 1986 with a throw of 77.44 meters.

She was a regular fitness expert on This Morning in 2012. Later that year, the stand-alone documentary Fatima Whitbread: Growing Up in Care was released.
The documentary featured Whitbread’s reflections on her own troubled childhood, as well as her conversations with others who had experienced serious problems with their parents and the UK care system.
