Did Fatima Whitbread win Olympic gold?

Fatima Whitbread, the retired British javelin thrower, is a well-known name in the world of athletics.

She did not win an Olympic gold medal. However, she won a bronze medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics and a silver at the 1988 Summer Olympics

Despite missing out on the gold medal, Fatima Whitbread’s performance in the 1984 Olympics was still remarkable.

Her silver medal was a testament to her skill and dedication, and it solidified her status as one of the world’s best javelin throwers.  Fatima Whitbread went on to compete in two more Olympic games finishing in fourth place in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Fatima Whitbread’s other achievements include winning the gold medal at the 1986 Commonwealth. She was also a two-time European champion in the javelin throw and set the world record in 1986 with a throw of 77.44 meters.

Since retiring from athletics, Whitbread has appeared on several television shows in the UK, including I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Dancing on Ice, and The Cube. She has also worked as a sports commentator and motivational speaker.
