Former Executive Vice President of Publicity at Universal Television, Robert Crutchfield has been reported dead by his family.

According to a statement released, he died on Friday, April 7, 2023, at the age of 85 after a prolonged illness. He was survived by his longtime husband, Terry Johnson, nephews; Edgar and Kevin, as well as his grand-nephew Holden.

He was Executive VP of Publicity, Promotion & Advertising at Universal Television, a position he accepted in 1987. He helped launch several popular tv shows including Law & Order, Quantum Leap, Northern Exposure, Miami Vice, Murder She Wrote, Magnum P. I, and more. He retired after 10 years; in 1997.

In 2000, Crutchfield launched Crutchfield Entertainment. The company is a broadcast production studio that specializes in commercial voiceovers, training videos, documentaries, and audiobooks. It is located in the Palm Springs area.
Before his death, he produced and starred on a weekly podcast channel he created named As I See It, where he talks about his forty years in Hollywood.
