Tyler Seguin is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre and alternate captain for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). Tyler Seguin is the son of Paul Seguin and Jackie Seguin.

Tyler Seguin was born in 1992 in Brampton, Ontario, but his family relocated to Whitby when he was a child to pursue his father’s career.
His father Paul played college ice hockey for the University of Vermont, where he shared a room with future NHL star John LeClair, and his mother Jackie was a Brampton Canadettes Girls Hockey Association centre as a child.
Tyler grew up playing hockey with his sisters Candace and Cassidy. All three played centre, like their mother, with Paul on defence.

Tyler Seguin began playing hockey in a house league when he was five or six years old, and he developed an early love for the sport. He was selected second overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins
In 2011, he won the Stanley Cup as a rookie. He has also competed internationally for Canada, winning gold medals at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge in 2009, the Spengler Cup in 2012, and the World Championships in 2015.
