Naomi Ackie is a British actress. Naomi Ackie, the daughter of second-generation Grenada immigrants, was born in Camden and raised in Walthamstow, London.

Her father worked for Transport for London, and her mother for the National Health Service. She is the youngest of three children, with an older brother and sister. She attended Walthamstow Girls’ School.
At the age of 11, she played the angel Gabriel in a school nativity play. She graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2014.

Naomi Ackie made her television debut as Jen in the Doctor Who episode “Face the Raven” (2015). She won the British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2020 for her role as Bonnie in the dark comedy-drama series The End of the F***ing World.
Naomi Ackie is best known for her role as Jannah in the 2019 film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. She played a major role in the third season of Master of None in 2021.
In 2022, she received critical acclaim for her portrayal of American pop icon, singer Whitney Houston, in the biopic Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody, earning a Rising Star nomination at the British Academy Film Awards.
