Oded Fehr is not white, but his parents come from European Jewish families. Fehr is a German surname that is more prevalent in the German-speaking portion of Switzerland.

Oded Fehr trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England and had taken a brief drama class in Frankfurt, Germany.

In 2019, Oded Fehr appeared in the CBS drama Blood. He has previously worked in security for the Israeli airline El Al.
