He also portrayed the role of Jackson in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders in 1990. From 2006 to 2021, he starred as Max Branning.

His final episode of the EastEnders was aired in February 2021, this comes after he announced that he will be exiting the long-running show after 15 years.

On April 23, 2023, he was set to partake in the London Marathon but he backed out last minute due to health related issues.

Unfortunately, I’ll be unable to run the London Marathon on Sunday (April 23, 2023) due to medical advice. I’ve got a very bad chest infection, I’ve had it for the last couple of weeks. I’ve been told in no uncertain terms to not run. “I’m gutted to not be running it with all my friends Babs’ Army, raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. I’ll be really sad to not be with them on the day,” he said.
