Dave Frost died recently and his death was announced by the Angels on April 19, 2023. He was 70 years old. His cause of death was not revealed.

Dave Frost grew up in Long Beach and attended Stanford. The White Sox selected the 6’6″ pitcher in the 18th round of the 1974 draft.

Frost made his MLB debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers as part of a four-game rookie season. During the 1977-78 offseason, he was traded to California. Dave Frost spent the majority of his career in Southern California.

He retired from playing at the age of 30. Over the course of his six-year MLB career, the right-hander appeared for three different teams. He pitched 550 2/3 innings with a 4.10 ERA, 222 strikeouts, and 33 wins.
