South Korean singer and actor, Moonbin has been reported dead. He was found dead by his manager at his home in the Gangnam district of Seoul, South Korea, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

According to a statement issued by the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, the singer might have committed suicide.
“It appears that Moonbin took his own life. We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death,” the statement read.

His death was confirmed by his label, Fantagio Music, which also released an official statement with regard to his death.

“We would like to apologize for the sad, heartbreaking news. On April 19, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us to become a star in the sky. Although we cannot compare our sorrow to the grief that the bereaved families are feeling, losing a beloved son and brother, the ASTRO members, fellow Fantagio artists, company executives, and employees are mourning the deceased in great sadness and shock,” the statement read.
“We sincerely ask you to refrain from speculative and malicious reports so that the bereaved families, who are in a state of great sadness and sorrow due to the sudden news, can honor deceased,” the statement continued.
Born on January 26, 1998, Moonbin attended and graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School with his focus in Practical Music.
He began his career in the entertainment industry as a child model in 2004, and made his first major public appearance in 2006 in TVXQ’s music video for their song, Ballons, portraying young U-Know Yunho.
His first appearance in a film was in the 2009 hit K-drama series Boys Before Flowers, where he played as young Kim Bum’s character.
Moonbin debuted as a member of the K-pop group ASTRO in 2016 where he featured on their debut EP, Spring Up.
