Blair Tindall was a well known music lover and professional who spent more than two decades as an oboist for the New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the Orchestra of St. Luke before she died.

She published her book Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classic Music in 2005. It is about her experience in the classical music world. The book was named as one of the top five stories of the year by the National Public Radio.

The book was adapted by Amazon Studios as a live-action web series. It was directed by Paul Weitz and written for tv by Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman, and Alex Timbers. It also stars Saffron Burrows, Malcolm McDowell, Gael Garcia Bernal, and Bernadette Peters.

She was reported dead by her fiancé, Chris Sattlberger. She died of a cardiovascular disease on April 12, 2023. She was 63 years old at the time of death.

Dear Friends of Blair, Chris Sattleberger, her fiancé writing. It is with immense sadness that I have to report the passing of my beloved partner and future wife Blair. We were going to be married in two weeks – alas, it was not to be. For her L.A friends – I will organize a gathering in her memory at a future date. Please keep her in your memory as the amazing woman she was,” Chris Sattlberger wrote through Tindall’s official Facebook account.
