Shaista Parveen was the wife of Indian gang leader turned politician, Atiq Ahmed. She is also the mother of Asad Ahmed who was gunned down by the police on April 13, 2023.

According to sources, Shaista is set to surrender to the authorities soon. Ahmed’s attorney, Vijay Mishra has disclosed that Shiasta will surrender on Sunday, April 16, 2023.
She has been on the top wanted list with a reward of Rs 50, 000 on her head. She has been involved in several criminal cases for years.

Cases against her include the murder of Umesh Pal, a pivotal witness in the 2005 murder of Raju Pal, a lawmaker who was a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
Raju Pal was murdered after he defeated Ashraf in the 2004 assembly elections in Ahmed’s political stronghold. Umesh Pal was also killed in February 2004 after several people opened fire on him.
