Michael Bisping Parents: Meet Jan Konrad Bisping, Kathleen Armkage

Michael Bisping is an English actor, sports analyst, commentator and retired mixed martial artist, who competed in the Middleweight and Light Heavyweight divisions of the UFC.

He is the son of Jan Konrad Bisping and Kathleen Armkage. Michael Bisping grew up in Clitheroe, Lancashire, on a British military base in Nicosia, CyprusHe went to Billington’s St Augustine’s Roman Catholic High School.

Andrew fled with his family from Poland to England after the German invasion in 1939. Jan Bisping’s father served in the British Army, and his mother is Irish.

He began Jujutsu training at the age of eight. At the age of 15, he competed as an amateur in Knock Down Sport Budo (KSBO), Britain’s first “no holds barred” competition, a precursor to modern MMA.

Michael Bisping has competed professionally since 2004. Michael Bisping became the first British fighter to compete in a UFC main event at UFC 78. He became the first British fighter to win a UFC Championship at UFC 199. On July 5, 2019, he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
