Why did UFC sue Michael Bisping?

Michael Bisping is an English actor, sports analyst, commentator and retired mixed martial artist, who competed in the Middleweight and Light Heavyweight divisions of the UFC.

Michael Bisping was not sued by the UFC. However, the UFC has sued the producers of Bisping: The Michael Bisping Story over unauthorized video use.

Michael Bisping was honoured with his own documentary Bisping: The Michael Bisping Story. to commemorate his incredible journey through the world of mixed martial arts (MMA).

The UFC calls Bisping’s intellectual property theft “amazing.” There are 24 copyrighted works spread across 160 clips or scenes, totalling about 19 minutes of the 109-minute running time of the film. Almost a fifth of the film is based on UFC-owned intellectual property

Bisping, which was released in March 2022, follows the life of Michael Bisping former UFC fighter, who also served as an executive producer on the film.

Between 2004 and 2017, Bisping held the UFC Middleweight and Cage Rage Light Heavyweight titles, and he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2019.
